SECRETARY & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – JEAN ROMULUS, MPA

Jean is leads organizational strategy, operations and governance in alignment with HEAL Haiti’s mission, vision and values. He also leads external affairs, human resources and fund development. Jean executes public health, educational and clinical programs that provide primary care to over 1,000 patients and health education to over 150 students annually.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, New York, Jean earned dual bachelor’s in health services administration and economics from Herbert H. Lehman College. He interned at Metropolitan Hospital and contributed to an award-winning study on the effects of educational technology in decreasing coagulation rates. Simultaneously, he interned at Bloomberg LP where he conceived and established a full-time Global Accounts Payable Administrator role. Then, a strong desire for deeper immersion into global public health lead Jean to earn a Master of Public Administration in International Health Policy and Management from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.

Jean is a visionary and champion of quality public health policy, education and promotion; public administration and non-profit management for over fifteen years. As ED of HEAL Haiti, he trains and supports nurses by managing a yearly clinic and providing scholarships and certifications to develop their skills and economic viability. In addition to his professional commitments, Jean is a mentor and orator for Working in Support of Education (W!SE) and a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives and the Gentleman’s Factory.

Jean’s life purpose is to improve human health and well-being.
